Ahh... Itavia 870... a very particular case because there were many investigative commissions and each one gave a different cause than the other commission (a mid-air collision, a terrorist bombing, an accidentally shot-down, etc)

this is a very interesting case, the reason for the bomb theory is because the explosion appeared to be from the inside out and not from the outside in as it would be with a missile, but the missile theory too and very likely at the time there were a lot of air wars of French jets against italy and also because the cvr shows that the copilot just before the explosion said: "look at that over there" which could mean that he was talking about a jet, but for me the bomb theory it's correct

Because i watch Air Crash Investigation so many times, this particular case was in fact a terrorist bombing

I'm curious as to the number of takeoff & landing cycles in the 16 year lifetime of this aircraft. Both of the airlines it served with(previously Hawaiian Airlines) were mainly involved with short distance domestic service. It could've suffered a structural failure similar to Aloha Airlines flight 243.

One of the few accidents where the cause was not determined to this present day due to differing opinions. What does everyone think? Was it downed by a bomb explosion like the independent investigation said, or was it shot down in the middle of a dogfight like the Italian court concluded?
