Toe Jam And Earl was one of my favourite games for the Genesis. Became the proud owner of my own copy just last year. I found it so funny back then and still great fun today.

I just love these videos because they bring back so many memories of going to the grocery store and looking through all the newest mags for tips & tricks/seeing what was coming soon.

I had subscriptions to a few different gaming mags for years (late 90's-mid 00's). OPM was probably my favorite, I still have dozens of demo discs from that era.

I just had to stop at 7:01 for that Command & Conquer ad. I instantly recognized that power blowing up. :)

The best nostalgia trip I ever got ever is from flipping through my old gaming mags. Don't you just wish we could personally revisit the glory days of gaming?

I used to collect gaming magazines. Play Magazine always had the most beautiful art.

Agreed. One of my fondest memories of the Dreamcast! Right up there with Jet Set Radio.

Vice: Project Doom was totally a hidden gem. Ninja Gaiden style cinema cut scenes, driving stages, gun stages and a pretty solid platformer.

After Nintendo Power gave it the cover, I quickly became interested because it was like 3 games in one... with a story! Of course it's more like 1 game with some novelty stages, though it was actually a really fun game. A little on the easy side, but a decent story and lots of replay value. It even has a relatively decent "twist" ending!

Sadly, of all my gamer friends, I think I am the only person who really played the game and most people don't remember it at all! That awful ad was definitely a factor and I don't think Sammy knew how to market in the US at the time. Glad to know that I wasn't the only one who appreciated it.

Thanks for bringing back the memories and you should totally do music mags as well as more of these gamer mag vids too!

You can buy most old game magazines for a dollar or less...especially if you buy in bulk. However, some of the early Nintendo Power and Nintendo Fun Club are going up in price. Especially if they are in mint condition and have all the posters/inserts.

Gamepro was my favorite, I used to collect that magazine every month for about 7 years or so, good times.

I love these videos, especially when you look at old PC gaming mags. On a related note, if anyone reading this happens to have any old UK PC Gamer issues gathering dust in their attic, I'd be willing to buy them.

An old music magazine special would be awesome. God, I had tons of Hit Parader (even the one shown in this video!), Metal Edge, Cream and RIP magazines. I was little headbanger back in the day.
