Instead of discussing whether or not umpire's call should be removed entirely, why not gradually reduce the percentage of the ball that should be hitting the wicket area. Change it to 30% for now (instead of 50%), and as the margin of error of the hawk eye system reduces, so can the percentage.

LBW rule is still fine, but umpires' call on most tight catches, which he in 90% case clearly cannot see is ridiculous.

There is margin of error in ball tracking technology, hence umpire call. Is this margin of error improved?

If just clipping stumps will be given out than test matches in England will finish in one day😂😂

Why does ICC keep complicating the game? The rules are already so complex. Agree with Kohli. If the bails would go off, it should be out. That's the simplest way to look at it and actually satisfies the underlying reason for LBW being a thing in the first place.

The error meter of Hawk-Eye is from 2.2 to 10mm
So in my view the Umpire's Call percentage should drop down from 50% to 10-25%

There can be a certain amount of error in projecting the trajectory of the ball after hitting the pad which is why we have the umpire's call. But I don't understand why there is umpire's call for impact. We get a clear image of the point of impact.

The only reason why umpire's call exists is that hawkeye technology is not completely accurate. If less than 50% of the ball hits the stumps, there is a good chance that the ball could have actually been more/less on the other side.

Simple way to solve this problem is simply take umpires call out of the game.In DRS, Show the wickets as partial hitting(yellow colour), hitting(red colour) and missing(green colour).if the wickets is partial hitting take it as not out even if the umpire decision is out.DRS review also should be retained

Umpires call should never be removed, to maintain the integrity of Umpires it excellent call by ICC to retain Umpires call.
And the players who are saying that if the wickets is clipping, give them out, we need to keep in mind that Ball tracking technology is not 100% right, it's an assumption.

virat is right just simple basic cricket ball hitting the stumps it should be given out

Saw this somewhere: For LBW reviews, there shouldn't be umpires call for pitching and impact since it is real path and not extrapolated by ball tracker. Only hitting stumps should have umpires call.

What if the top edge line of the bail or the outer edge line of off stump or the outer edge line of the leg stump overlaps and becomes the same line with the line that dissects the ball exactly in half? Will it be umpires call or out?

0:25, bails even don't fall when a 140 kmph ball hits the stumps, sometimes. Why should then clipping stumps considered bowled then

I think, Outer edge to middle of bails, Off-stump and Leg-stump should be umpires call region. Umpires call should only be given if the ball hits stumps completely outside the middle of bails, Off-stump and Leg-stump.

Clipping is based on program.. Real conditions, swing is not considered fully so, umpires call makes sense. It's just the portion of a ball which should be considered

Virat doesn't know Technology is not 100% accurate, So a margin of error needs to be considered

Agreed, it should not be Empire's call. Hiting the stumps shall be out, as simple as that.

I agree with Virat Kohli. They should reduce the percentage from 50 to around 10-25 percent. They should also get rid of the ball pitching thing, and only rely on ball tracking. I don’t get it why when the ball does not pitch on line and they overturn the decision. Then they later show the ball on ball tracking where they show the bounce and it’s on line and would been out. Ball pitching is so useless, they should take that out. Also icc should take the new ipl rules that bcci put, like soft signals, third umpire checking short run. Hope icc improves in the future where cricket can become a fair game.

I can not believe this, All fans & players asked for:
1) Removal of umpires call for Boundary catches
2) Consider out even if the ball touches just 25% of the wicket regardless of what umpires call was
3) After umpire calls an LBW, if batsman runs & takes single or the ball runs for a 4, these runs should be counted & not considered as dead ball.
But what ICC changed? A rule which came across only twice in this 12 Match series (4 Test, 5 T20 & 3 ODI)
Disappointed
