I used to love the “smell” of the Payless (or any shoe store for that matter) when you go in there. Lol. I know I’m weird.

I remember when that was added on to the other store which was Stark cooling and heating. My grandmother and grandfather lived directly across the street from this complex. I remember the night it hot robbed back in the late 60's I watched it all from.my grandma's porch. The colors that are showing up on the walls was from the old Pic-Way Shoes which it was built as in the beginning. I watched it a lot from my grandparents porch growing up and shopped in there quite a bit years ago until I entered into feet problems. Thanks Nate for this posting!

We have a Payless in Wooster that's still going... for now. Who knows if or when it will close? I get my shoes at Walmart these days - can't afford to throw away 75 bucks on shoes that don't even last SIX MONTHS!

Great find. You can't say birds have tiny bird brains when they build nests in the E's. The letter is curved so it can work like a branch and support the twigs and stuff. Smart birds.

Payless seems to be a dead mall staple, but they are closing hundreds of stores and filed for bankrupcy. Could they go the way of Kinney Shoes or Thom McAnn?

Used to buy my work shoes at Payless. They would last three to six months and I wondered why also my feet hurt. Now I pay the extra $$$$ and get my shoes at Nordstrom Rack.

Hey Nate have you heard of the subreddit "Not Fooling Anybody"? It documents new businesses in obvious buildings of former businesses. A Mexican restaurant in a former Long John Silvers is one of many wonders documented. Thought you'd might like this :)

Where I live at we are getting either a Texas roadhouse or a steakhouse used to be a rally in almost like a mobile home but smaller they have not got sign down and it has been closed for a couple of years
