“Soul is all that matters” - That’s the tagline for the new BMW R18. And rightfully so because not only is this motorcycle truly a retro modern goddess when it comes to its design but also powering it is the largest displacement ( 1802cc to be precise ) boxer engine ever built by BMW.
An open shaft final drive with a swooping swing arm around it, a bolted logo and a lot more has been inspired from the BMW R5 from 1936, giving this motorcycle a timeless appeal.
It still has all the electronic wizardry on offer including riding modes called “Rock” ( Sports ), “Roll” ( Street ) and Rain ( duh - rain ! ) - that’s maybe the only thing kinda american about it !
