How to modify the AEV Snorkel to filter more Air!

We have been getting a lot of extra dust into the air filter every time we use the truck off road in dusty condtions. We are going to try this cheap modification to see if we can cut down on some of the dust we are getting into air filter. We will update as we do some more testing.

As you know I began the Ram 2500 Cummins build with the no off-road equipment installed when we purchased it. As time went on I found myself less and less happy with the stock equipment and the look of the truck. Are all the upgrades I have done worth it? Are they purely cosmetic?

Bad ass and looks nice!! That is the exact same prefilter that is factory on my Caterpillar 426b 4x4 backhoe. Just ordered my snorkel today ($515 OUCH!) And definitely doing exactly as you have! Thanks for the video! EDIT
Update, lol, i just read the other comments here. Daggumit, sad to hear that this didn't work so well for ya. Hmmm. Really works good on my hoe. I guess it works better on something that doesn't go forward over 18 mph. I kinda wondered if the cylonic action of the plastic cylone fins would be defeated by forward driving at speeds over 20mph.
