Change in role shouldn't be an issue. LIKE there is no way they decided just before the match that yay should play viper or any other agent
I think demon1 is the prime example that your role doesnt affect the input u can give or the aim (He dominated loud vs eg ig by playing astra whose role is to play passive drop the fking smoke and be a support agent)

Any team made around a star player fails. Everyone needs to pull their weight and everyone needs to be flexible enough to fit into the team well. Example: FNC and LOUD. Yes, both FNC and LOUD had star duelist last year, but even they were often playing second fiddle to other players on their teams.

what a lot of people don't seem to realize is that raze is a huge part of the meta today with the return of bind and split and the current meta on lotus. this means that unless a duelist player can play her, they have to be able to flex onto other roles or else they're just dead weight for their team (this is why aspas is able to stay on the duelist role on all maps). sure, teams can try to work around this by using old ideas like double duelist with raze and jett, but then they have to ask themselves if it's worth giving up an extra agent slot that could provide greater utility for the team, especially on defense, such as cypher, or more importantly, viper (arguably the strongest support agent in the game). i think teams are still hesitant to try the current chamber because frankly, it isn't all that great. cypher/kj provide much more value to the team in most scenarios.

all these valorant players need to do is look at the other game in csgo
the top players, if you watch demos from 2018-19, and compare them to a demo in 22 (before cs2), look completely different, even though the game hasnt had a meaningful change in a decade
a top player will adapt, and in a game like valorant, where an agent is randomly messed around with for no reason every 2 weeks, thats even more important

It is very much real I play T2 vcl sa and the older Indian Jett one tricks are very much replaced by imports who can do so much more except sk rossi tho he continues to dominate the lobby despite the roles (in vcl sa) hope he gets back to franchising

Also as a viper main i would like to point out that most of the viper util goes in even before the rounds begin only the mollies remain with you so i think viper should still have given yay all the time to focus on his duels and not worry about smoke or util

While I do mostly agree with Zellsis Bleed could have decided to still use Yay on chamber for a couple maps to try and bring out 2022 Yay like Lotus for example but instead they put him on Skye which just didn’t seem to work

TenZ had a huge success on smokes/Omen.

I think the biggest issue is not support roles but when you put a star player/aimer onto an anchor role its obvious theyre gonna have less impact having to rotate every round.

That said people need to adapt still for sure cant just be one tricking the whole time
