"ground types are confusing" proceeds to explain them all in perfect

I mean pikachu is electric type and mice have nothing to do with electricity, he just happens to be an electric type mouse

Cubone is a ground type cause they wear the skull of their mother who is 6ft under

Oh i see, so Gliscor is purplish and has a stinger, thus poison type, huh?

Cubone is probably supposed to represent a fossil dig site or something, digging dino bones from the ground.

This is why Mudsdale should have been Claysdale. It's also a better pun on its origin's species name.

Gliscor: exists
This guy: I diagnose you with poison

The mudbray thing probably has to do with the fact donkeys carried stuff around in muddy trails or something weirdly specific likes that

In fairness to the Nidos, they're known as the Drill Pokemon. Rhydon, and Rhyperior also share this category and are Ground type, just like the move Drill Run (counterpoint being that Horn Drill is a Normal type move) while Drilbur and Excadrill, in addition to being based on moles also have a drill theme.

It _is_ the bones. Heavy usage of bones is a ground-type aesthetic. Mandibuzz only has the bone thing as an accessory, it has nothing to actually do with the pokemon itself. It doesn’t use it in any moves, the design doesn’t highlight it in particular, it’s just a “this is a vulture, it eats people” detail

My head cannon is that pokemon types don't actually exist the way we see them, and we just place lables on pokemon and attacks based on their effectiveness against others. Like the first trainer had no idea that gerardo's was water flying and originally only that it was a water type until they noticed that electric type attacks seemed to do way more damage to it then grass type and threw many experiments they eventually came up with the idea of pokemon Types to more easily keep track how effective attacks will be against other pokemon. Imagine being the one to discover spritetombs type in the universe without fairy types. Nothing seems to be strong against this pokemon. They would consider a new type, but by using what they understand from studying other types, they were able to figure out it's a ghost/dark type.

Cubone is ground because their is 6 feet under which is also why alolan marowak is a ghost type

I can't blame him for the mistyping though gliscor probably has the most confusing typing ever it looks like it could be ground/poison/dark/bug/flying 😭

There's an impostor in ground/poison...

Nidoking and nidoqueen are based on rabbits/vunnies which lives in burrows underground

Aren't the Nido lines burrowing Pokémon and the final stages are ground type because they're the ones that make the burrow?

When he was like "the ground poison types, gliscor...." i was like hes gotta be joking right

Maybe it has nothing to do with what they are made of but has alot to do with what biome they are found in

The reason for cubone is because their mother is in the ground
