What is The All-Time Best Episode of The Simpsons?

Показать описание
The Simpsons has been on television since 1989. At the time of writing there have been over 600 episodes. But what Episode can lay claim to being the best?

Essentially there really is no right answer but it's generally accepted that the best episodes are in the Golden Era of the Simpsons, i.e. between 1991's Stark Raving Dad and 97's The Principal and the Pauper. All the supposed greatest episodes are between these two landmarks; that said many claim that Season 11's Behind the Laughter and Season 19's Eternal Moonshire of the Simpson Mind are also worth your time.

What of the golden era best represents the classic Simpsons template. Which episode best captures its cutting satire, timeless pop cultural references and profound visual gags, or its quotability, impressive cast of characters and familial warmth? How do you quantify such a subjective thing as “best” especially with Simpson episodes? What makes one episode objectively better than another?

My favourite episode is 'And Maggie makes three' because while most great episodes succeed in being hilarious, that episode is both funny and sentimental. The ending scene when Homer covers up the sign where he works that says 'don't forget, you're here forever' with pictures of Maggie- which alters it to say 'do it for her' makes me emotional every single time.

I like the monorail one.

My favourite episode is 'Lisa's Substitute'. I very rarely see it mentioned as one of the greats yet it has all the hallmarks of golden era Simpsons despite being pre-season 3. It's funny yet emotional and looks at Homer's failures as a father yet he doesn't realise he's failed Lisa, but ultimately his love for Lisa shines through in the end.

Interesting Story:
One of my favorite episodes is "Kamp Krusty" which I actually got to see before it was even aired. My dad used to do Radio spots for FOX in the early 90s so he got copies of a lot of the episodes still being finished (some episodes with just the dialog and animation without music or sound-effects). So I got to watch a bunch of episodes from the 4th season and watched Kamp Krusty like 10 times. While my dad was writing spots for the other episodes, just for fun, I wrote a spot for "Kamp Krusty". I showed it him, he actually liked it and showed it to his boss, who ended up using it with some tweaks. So at age 7, I wrote the radio spot for "Kamp Krusty"! I never got paid for it, but it's a lot of fun to think back to that moment in time. So many of those moments like them trashing the school or Barney as Krusty I remember writing down the time-codes for to write up the script, and they're still funny as hell.

You know the episode where Homer meets his mom and it ends with him sitting on the hood of his car, watching the stars? That.

The episode that's made me laugh the hardest has to be Cape Feare. The Rakes and the WItness Relocation Program are to of the best gags ever.

My favorite -- the one that makes me laugh the hardest -- is "The PTA Disbands". That always makes me laugh.

Skinner: "We both know these children have no future!"
(cafeteria gasps)
Skinner (nervously chuckling) "Prove me wrong, kids. Prove me wrong."

Bart gets an F is my alltime favourite. Stark raving dad is one of the best episode where all family characters have good appearences and a there is smart use of a guest star.

Mine is the one where homer meets his mother. We didn’t really know anything about his mom until this season so seeing it surprised me. I also really enjoy the gags like sunshine of your love playing when the mom sees the football player with the long hair. But what really makes it my favourite is the ending. When I see homer sit on the hood of his car looking up I start asking questions. Is he waiting for her to come back, is he sitting there because he can’t believe she left so soon

I don't know if it is my all-time favorite episode but the one where Lisa befriends Bleeding Gums Murphy inspired me to start playing the Tenor Saxophone almost 30 years ago now and it got me a college scholarship

I'm pretty sure that's Homer Simpson in the oven, rotating slowly. His body temperature has risen to over 400 degrees he's literally stewing in his own juices.

My favorite is Who Shot Mr. Burns Part 1. I remember watching it when it aired back in 1995 and really felt like I was watching something special.

My favourite will always be Lisa’s first word. I mean, the “don't worry, he’ll tire himself out” gag is iconic.
And I’m dumbfounded by your quality of videos. Amazing stuff man. Keep it up!!
