Anything is possible, says Loke on working with Umno

DAP secretary-general Loke Siew Fook says he will not rule out a collaboration with Umno as “anything is possible in politics” but it will only take place after the next general election.

Malaysian political landscape has changed in the past few years from the British model where you have two major blocs, to the continental European model where you have many parties or blocs neither of which form majority on their own, but must negotiate alliances to form government. Unfortunately, this new model is still very new to Malaysia, hence its unstable. Anti hopping law is one way to stabilise it. However, the law will not prevent whole parties or blocs switching allegiances, nor should it.

It's fair for PH to keep UMNO accountable by making sure they actually do their work to improve the country. The MOU has improved political stability in Malaysia with the introduction of anti-hopping law which is pushed very heavily by PH.
