Good Neighbours Newcastle

The Good Neighbours Newcastle project, launched in January 2025 by Volunteering Matters in partnership with Newcastle City Council, recruits and supports volunteers to assist people who are socially isolated or in need.

Volunteers provide flexible, short-term support, including practical, social, and emotional help, tailored to individual needs.

Using the Volunteero app or online portal, volunteers select tasks that fit their schedule. This project benefits both volunteers, who experience improved wellbeing and skill development, and those receiving support, who feel safer, more connected, and empowered to live independently. It’s a great way to give back and strengthen the community.
