I think it’s really stupid that Rick does this lesson, because Morty literally asks how it works, but then Rick just tell him to have fun. So it’s more Rick’s fault

I love how Morty literally did all these things, than just offed himself and moved to another universe thinking he was simply repeating time. Rick could’ve just as easily done it, but nope. He wanted to teach Morty a lesson, and it’s actually a very compelling lesson about never doing anything in life you’ll regret, and not doing things in life you’ll never know you’ll regret.

This is such a fking cool concept tho. Having the ability to retry your actions after making a mistake or something horrible on purpose AND having to deal with the consequences is such an amazing idea. Havent seen it done in sci fi before to my knowledge.

A lot of people take Rick's explanation at face value but I always just assumed Rick was lying to make Morty desperate and that all this was happening in one specific dimension. If Rick was telling the truth, than every Morty that C137 Morty replaced would have to have also had a remote because some of the things Morty only did because he was given said remote. That means those other Morty's were also replacing other Morty's who also had remotes. What's to stop C137 Morty from being replaced as well?
