A Man Can Permanently Alter a Woman’s DNA #science

Fetal microchimerism is a fascinating phenomenon where fetal cells, containing both maternal and paternal DNA, persist in the mother’s body long after pregnancy. These fetal cells, which can embed in various tissues, carry the father’s genetic material and may remain in the mother for decades. This interaction between the fetal and maternal cells can lead to epigenetic changes, where the mother’s gene expression is influenced without altering her underlying DNA.

The presence of these foreign cells has been linked to both positive and negative effects. In some cases, they may help with tissue repair or boost immune function. However, fetal microchimerism is also believed to play a role in certain autoimmune conditions, as the mother’s immune system may respond to these foreign cells. The exact mechanisms and consequences of these epigenetic changes are still being studied, but it highlights the complex and long-lasting impact pregnancy can have on a mother’s body.

You forgot the case in the US (New York?) where a mother’s cancer and organ failure was cured miraculously with her baby’s transfer of their stem cells! The mother had a crazy high chance of death but due to carrying her baby was able to survive and not find any cancer left in her body, starting an entire branch of fetal stem cell replacement therapy for cancer.

Life hacks for those of us who seem to keep ending up in abusive relationships:
1. First important tip is to never romantically date someone unless you have been close friends for at least a year. Date with the goal of friendship and acknowledge that anyone who tries to push that boundry to get more from you before that benchmark is someone who will absolutely disrespect your consent in other ways too.
2.The butterflies in your stomach feeling is not always a sign of starting to fall in love. Sometimes, it's a warning that you are in a dangerous situation. Please listen to this, and other signs, of high nerves around that person, then analyze why you might be feeling such nerves if there is no perceived reasonable explanation. Also, pay close attention to how the person treats those they have power over, such as younger siblings, employees, service workers, and animals. If in doubt, talk to a counselor/therapist and get their reading of the situation. I love you and you aren't broken, you just gotta learn how to recognize the signs, but remember that you don't have to do this alone. Those of us who have survived can help show the way to find love safely ❤

Epigenetics is the study of how gene expression is regulated without changing the underlying DNA sequence. As in, certain factors change the way the genes express themselves, or better said, certain factors (such as environmental changes or the ones you mentioned) change how the DNA is “read”. The DNA itself doesn’t change…

This is actually comforting for some women who've had miscarriage.

I already knew it. Women who get pregnant with older men (+40) have way more chances of pregnancy complications like diabetes, fetal malformations and maternal depression too.

Being a woman at all is so hard, like, just having an uterus makes your life a lot times more vulnerable to chronic diseases that men don't even get 💀 we're in constant danger girls. My mom and grandmother had uterine cysts 💀💀💀💀

I needed to hear this, I lost my baby this time last year, although I've been struggling mentally, I can tell my immune have been stronger than anyone in my house, they've all come down with flu multiple times but I've been healthy throughout. I probably should thank God and her cells left in me.

This is another reason why I'm so skeptical about having kids.

There was a study that suggested having a male child can decrease a woman's risk of/ severity of demensia later in life. The theory for the cause was this genetic transferance in utero.
