I was of the one whose recruitment process had been cancelled due to this agv. Scheme.
The gov. Should take back off this agv. Scheme and for those candidates the relaxation in the age should have to give.

If government remove Agniveer scheme then they have to increase the age and give age relaxation to all the candidates who were above 21 year old . Because they do not fill the form due to agniveer .

-For Pay and Pension was accounting 50% of our Defence Budget, we can use it for modernization
- Average age of Indian Army is 32, It will come down
Negatives-
- Aspirants are less motivated to join the armed forces.
- After 4 years, struggle of getting the job will start again because reservation is given in Railways, CAPFs not assurance.
- Internal Competition could affect the brotherhood as everybody will want to come in 25%.
Overall-
Scheme should be revoked, Army is not only a career but dream for many of us.

It should end .I still remember how it affected lots of youth specially candidates from pending recruitment who were supposed to join But were deprived of their joining letters after introduction of Agnipath scheme

Let me tell you partiality, below mentioned privileges are provided to a regular soldier but not to an Agniveer
1. Agniveer can book out( going out side camp) only once in a month wherever rest Ranks can book out daily after duty hrs
2. Driving Motorcycle is prohibited to Agniveers, they have to travel approx 40 km/ day by cycle
3. No prefix suffix ( Sat, SUNDAY Added without counting in actual leave days) allowed to Agniveers while going on leave.
4. Agvs are not permitted to appear in any civil/ defence/ commission exams like cds afcat nda, ACC etc.
5. They can't opt for special forces in Iaf, cant apply for adventures like para jumping, SWIMMING, etc.

Moreover they will not be discharged in any circumstances (except death of parents)once 8 months are completed.
They will do all the possible duties in the station that comes under their profile. Will have to contribute to every fund ( unit fund, billet fund, crockery fund, cinema fund) irrespective of their choice.
No any allowance except dress allowance, hardship allowance. No militry service pay, HRA, Dearness allowance, maintenance allowance, technical allowance, Etc .
Being always junior most ( during all 4 years) he is infact suppose to do more duty n hardwork than any regular soldier that too with almost nil privileges. Actually if you go through punishments of regular soldier that are mentioned in service knowledge book, these are the rules for Agniveers.

It should be implemented not remove like

1) Percentage of taking agniveer must be atleast 50% instead of 40%.

2) training period must be 5 or 6 years instead of 4 years.

3) allow agniveer to continue their graduation along with training and exam leave.

4) give them more job opportunities either in private or government instead of giving relaxation of 10% in defence Forces.

5) last but not least give them equal and same importance as given to the army soldiers shaheed tag and all kind of stuffs. 😊

If you have budget issue than go for 12 years period for agnipath and then give them to ex service man quota...

I think scheme motive was to save money, reduce average age of soldiers in army, & select best in best candidates for future services. But due to lack of some miscommunication & proper roadmap this scheme is failed. Govt need to reform agnipath scheme 1) don't discriminate soldiers (every one is called soldiers, don't call new recruits as agniveer)
2) equal salary & other facilities
3) 60% soldiers give permanent job in army
4) rest 40% given direct recruitment in paramilitary & State police.
