Zelda 64 - F3 2023 Trailer

F3 2023 teaser trailer for "Zelda 64", a beta-style mod for Ocarina of Time.

Didn't see it on YouTube so figured I'd upload it.

The creator decided to stay anonymous according to @KazeN64 so I don't have any further info on this yet. If they speak up or decide to post their own trailer, I'll be unlisting this one.

Honestly a smart idea for the creators to remain anonymous for now. But man this trailer is incredible. Not only does the content itself look exciting and meticulously authentic to "brown sleeve" builds of Zelda 64, but that video filter is absolutely spot-on and the use of Strato Planet as the background track ties it all together like a nice rug in a room.

Having the original beta version of Ocarina of Time being playable is honestly a dream come true and the way the video is presented is very authentic and helps sell that retro style.

Unpopular opinion: A bigger more alive OoT with graphics that looked like this would have been better than what we got

Somebody ACTUALLY restored the beta sword swings, the one thing I've been asking modders to do for over ten years. Somebody ACTUALLY figured out how to do it!!!

This and the Spaceworld 97 Experience are something I only dreamed of playing. I can't wait to try this one out! It'll be a dream come true!

Personally I have a real suspicion that this might actually be a real proto build or a byproduct of another secret leak using older assets not exposed to the public. Some of it looks too authentic, not just the stuff from the gigaleak or the real assets used in the Spaceworld reconstruction. Regardless . . . it's a childhood dream come true. There was a time where all you could hope for was a recreation with only fanmade reconstructions, but now we have mods that are at the very least using real assets. Thank you God lmao!

Genuinely flabbergasted how they managed to recreate the way link moves and how he swings his sword, i dunno why but i feel like link controlled a bit different from how he moves in retail, almost snappy in retail while in the very early builds he has start up animations for running and stopping. Almost makes me think this is like a real build or something lol
