I think most people need to understand that when you're at a venue, the PA does a lot more work (in terms of filling the space) than your amp does. Depending on the size of the venue, you're also going to have some natural reverb as well, which creates a unique impulse response. What we're hearing here in this video is simply how the rig would sound in a studio setting. Obviously in a live setting it's going to sound bigger.

Finally, an expert user of amp modelers makes this thing sound worthy! I feel bad for Atomic, there are so many misleading demos of this unit out there, even taking the stock impulses responses into account.

First of all, this is by far one of the bests (if not the best) reviews of this unity that I have ever seen!
I have made a little search in the comments section and found your presets just to confirm that they sound AMAZING!
They were by far the best presets that I have tested.
This confirmed that Rumble Brite is still my favorit amp of the unity, but it also brought interest back on some of the others, sich as Hot Brit and Archon.

Been following for a few months now (since I accepted stage volume realities and decided to switch to a modeller :) ), thought I was going to go the AX8 route but decided on the AmpliFIRE 6. I own the Ampli-Firebox which has many of the same amp models, just not as many effects or preset/flexibility. It’s the same DSP “guts” though (it can even load presets from the AF6). I agree that these things are the real deal. The amp models have a punch and presence that’s been missing from modeling since day 1.

It’s fantastic that you understand EQ and know what you need to get through a mix - we often forget about the fact that we play a predominantly midrange instrument, but once you find your “it, ” you can pull “it” out of almost any device….provided the device can handle what you’re asking…lol

In the end I went with the AX8, but consider this: one of these and an Alto TS310 would cost $750. That would get a new player every amp and every effect he or she could possibly use. Go used, and get a Firebox, and you might get closer to $500. That is phenomenal value.

I came to the Atomic club after selling my Axe Fx Ultra, I hated the lack of usb function. I had the 3 and now I'm looking for a used 6. It sounds fantastic as far as the amp sims are concerned without much tweaking, which I really like. The effects needed some work and Atomic along with Studio Devil really delivered with the latest updates. I definitely recommend it to anyone with a limited budget. It's not Fractal, but on the amp sims it's close enough. The interesting thing to do would be to build a pedalboard around it and use for amp sims and IR loading.
