The Tenement Museum in the Lower East Side is one of the best attractions you can visit in NYC. It's filled with history! Here's a look inside.

Thank you so much for your support and hope you enjoy!

It's quite interesting to look into the past time in a museum like this, not in a movie. No matter how much the movie proves, I think modern aesthetic views are involved for the box office. Those things apply to past costumes and props. But the objects in the museum are purely past the passage of time. I think it's really precious. It's a trace of someone who was just like us. - k from seoul

Thankyou this is excellent..superb! The guide was 😊 great.. his history on the Tenement Museum was fascinating..he sounded just like Heath Ledger from Perth.. thanks again to you both. My grandmother was from France and died of TB here in the 40s.

I went here last year and the rooms were practically bare, hard to visualize how the families lived, glad to see so many items included this time , thank you for sharing xoxo

Can you imagine you work and live in that small apartment with a bunch of people. That takes a lot of courage to go through that every day, if they hadn’t, America wouldn’t be what it is now, ❤️

Very interesting museum. I wrote my master thesis about Polish soldiers in the American Civil War so the erlier period, but this period (late XIX age) is also very interesting. :)

I've been here!! Took 3 tours... 2 in just one day, actually! I highly recommend it to everyone and here's a TIP (other than DON'T go when it's really hot out, lol): Buy a membership! It's cheaper to do that n take advantage of 3 or more tours n you'll also get a member's discount at the shop n other nice perks.
Take a GOOD look at the tour descriptions to help get the best bang for your buck. I managed to see ALOT in 3 tours including entering from the front of the building AND getting to see the back where the bathrooms were by the tavern.
Btw, I did NOT see that apartment with the TV. WOW, it's huge compared to the others n has it's own bathroom! Guess I need to take another tour or 2 that I haven't been on yet!

ha, vinyl on the upholstery, classic since the furniture was used only for special occasions. Otherwise, the linoleum floored, metal stamped ceiling, kitchen was the social hub where the refrigerator always contained solidified bowls of chicken fat, nothing was throw away, and the laundry was hung out on the clothesline. Bedding was aired out on the front windows.
Gonna like the interior window in the bedroom.

But seriously, revisiting your childhood envirnoment it seems small, but how do people manage being in self-exiled house arrest in a closet apartment for months at a time? And the winter coming ...

Is there a link to the full video?
Happy holidays

See the artists George Bellows, John Sloan and the Ash Can group, as well as period Sunday comics, for glimpses into that era. The 1948 movie "Naked City" shows the last of 'old' New York City, kids playing games in the street and more. Yea, a brownstone is just a hoity-toily tenement with a gated stoop ... perhaps not with so many Blattena germanicas.

bro really the concept is very nice and i love it, but i think night live streams are much better. That's why we expect a long live stream on the night of December 31st. Like the 'Chrismas in Midtown' video. <3 thank you :)
