My granddaughter is turning 17 soon and will be doing driving lessons. What are the best small cars for new young drivers regarding value for money and insurance and running cost. If it was your 17 year old granddaughter, what ideally would you be looking for her first car. If you could make a video on this subject, I’m sure many of your subscribers would find it very useful.

I like the next size up. Chrysler/Lancia Delta. Nice alternative to a Focus or Astra.

The little Lancia, not bad things. After the Lancia 1980's rust fiasco which led to the brand becoming near extinct, the numpties in FCA management decided to bung Chrysler badges on in some markets. Like Chrysler had a better reputation here... not! But yeah, pretty much a Punto and decent with it. Should shift pretty easy.

The A3 looks tidy. The interiors always hold up well on those. Looks like an aftermarket head unit too. You can name your price to the right buyer.

Think I remember the Epsilon being discussed on Top Gear - believe JC stated the car is based on a stretched Corsa chassis, to make it 5 doors, and powered by a Fiat engine.
