Today in Vietnam, Captain Bel Geode and his crew, 1st Lt. Billy Goldberg, and Loadmaster Chief Jimmy Dukes are tasked with delivering cargo around airbases and villages in South Vietnam.

It's all fun and games till the pigs go flying!

Really great job from a Vietnam "Pig" pilot, this old bird was awesome to fly. You had to have a symbiotic relation with her, 12 hours of fuel, 8-10 hours oil so you hand cranked oil from 55 gallon barrel. She could take more hits than a B-17 in flak alley. Yes we did fly pigs but no parchutes. Start to airborne on a good hop - 10- 15 seconds. Belly lands (crash) like an angel.
Thanks for the deja vu. Just wasn't not noise enough 😀 Oh, there was a high angle of attack landing approach when encountering enemy fire. Or drop cargo with parchutes pull our on skids just above runway. Watch "Operation Dumbo Drop" for parachuting animals.

El 30 de Abril, la USAF envío a Uruguay un C-123 Provider para que efectuará demostraciones aéreas de su capacidad operacional.
Las demostraciones fueron en la mañana en Base Aerea Nro 1 .
En el departamento de Canelones.
En la tarde en la Base Aerea Nro 2 en el departamento de Durazno .
Se produce un grave accidente en la aproximación final de un aterrizaje táctico.
Falleciendo sus 19 ocupantes .
Fue el 30 de Abril de 1970 .

I recently finished reading a book titled Flying Through Midnight, by John T Halliday. It deals an awful lot with the Provider. I recommend giving it a read. It's an awesome book.

Come to think of this video once again, I thought of making strange videos with some cargo aircraft as well. One of them is going to be about myself, dropping diapers in Duke City, to and for those who need them.

The C-123 was used in 2 known movies at this time. "Con Air" including "Air America".
