It wasn’t until I learned how to wake up for myself and adopt a morning routine that the skill of discipline began to develop.This not only helps set up my day, but also strengthens the muscle of discipline. If I can keep the promises that I make to myself every morning, I can keep the promises that I’m making in other areas of my life.

Those promises are the groundwork for your daily life, laying the foundation for your goals and dreams.

After so many years of jumping out of bed to get the kids ready for school, the cows milked, pigs and chickens fed, myself ready for work- I now enjoy one hour of coffee and a warm apple turnover (homemade) before getting moving. And I appreciate it so much every single day! I'm not retired, but I have worked hard to get where I am (self employed at home).

I've always HATED mornings. I recently bought a shower curtain with cutesy rainbows, suns, clouds (reminds me of my 80s childhood!) to help put me in a better mood. I swear it helps a little to see something visually 'happy'.

Ohhhh I LOVE this!!!! I learned to really use repetition and every morning I start by my affirmation, read my goals, have warm lemon water.
Small changes every day create HUGE changes in life!

I feel blessed to have each new day.

Making my bed is one of my first things. Then walking and feeding my precious dog, and then doing something to get my place neater, even cleaner. This latter activity is recent, as I had allowed my pandemic blues to set in and create chaos in my living space.

As I work to music or an audiobook, I can get quite a lot done.

Even before I get up, I greet my loved ones with a “good morning, I love you” text. I send along a cute gif, sometimes a photo I’ve taken during my week.

*I call it showing up for yourself.* Going through with what you WANT to do with your schedule makes you feel good. *As someone with multiple health problems, especially this year, I finally acknowledge that I need core things to help me. Breakfast, daily pills, caffeine, then whatever is going on.*

Thank you for having the courage to just be genuine and make no apology for being you! I’m a highly sensitive person and balance is so important in my daily life. I started slow and underestimated the impact it would actually bring! But I’m telling you, by learning from you/Mel and others like her, I’ve been able to see some personal growth and it’s exciting! I want to keep going! I used to feel being so sensitive as overwhelming and a curse! But the older I get I’ve come to realize I’m not broken and it’s protected me countless times and has brought me peace. I no longer try to fit in just to not look so odd and feel accepted. It’s exhausting to try and be anything other than honest and genuine. I can spot the ones who aren’t and you are definitely a genuine and honest person!
