I like my Porta Pro, sure. But in terms of detail I'd like to prefer KSC75 over Porta Pro anytime. Other than that, it's really a great bargain for those who find them comfortable enough to carry around since for some they're not the most comfortable pairs. BTW Yaxi pads improve not only sound but also comfort.

I've had these for over 20 years. PortaPro + Yaxi pads = relaxed comfortable listening. I don't need extremely analytical or assertive dynamics all the time.

Whilst this reviewer used the word whilst way too often, I still thought it was nice. Whilst.

Nice. Would like to see your review on other koss models like the ksc75 (can be used with a headband, including the portapros), kph30i and the newly released kph40.

Finally! Thank you for the review, Chrono!

Kph40 are also a nice punchy sounding headphone. Probably a better looking too . More minimalistic with a detachable cable.

One note about a slight change to the newest PP. The plastic driver housing on the new Utility version of the PP is a little different. It shares the same look of the KPH40.

Porta Pros are one of my favorite headphones, I've got TOTL and still jam the Porta Pro often.

The best footage, portapro asserting it's dominance against Susvara.

I've owned so many pairs og headphones up to around 300--400 dollars of headphones. My favorite? The Koss Porta Pro.

listening to this with my limited edition gold/black Portapros I just got... I haven't broke them in yet and the mids seem very muffled especially when hit with demanding music. Do they need to be broke in? My cheapest Audio Technica set (M20x) sound way, way better hooked up to my digital piano then the Koss so far.

Great review!👍🏼 The Koss are coming back in style for those who don’t know about their hair plucking propensity and perpetually tangled cord. Gone are the days of my youth and using these rickety things as well, I’m happy to say. 🙂

I have an older pair of Porta-Pros and they definitely have more mid-bass. But I'm hard pressed to hear but subtle differences between the KSC75 and the new KPH40. I put upgraded foam pads on both but haven't on the Porta-Pros.

to me, i don't agree with ''imaging and soundstage'' thing. It happen something with portapro sometimes doens't happen with my other headphones: sometimes things happen in music/video and i turn around to see if it was something in the table, at the door. To my ears, their very warm with woody upper bass is pretty realistic, idk

Is this still a 30 fps video? I just don't get this - it's so smooth, but YT doesn't show me this as a 60 fps content.

4:37, my pair had very subdued 3-4k and many other graphs indicate this as well. I don't think the 500hz-5000hz region is well balanced at all

Porta pro's are the entry level pseudo-audiophile headphones, they have soundstage, they sound fair, but that's it. My hair used to get caught in the metal "headband". For the price they are very good, i bought my first pair for 25 bucks, used. Just go straight to hd600 afterwards.
