The FIRST Goalie to USE a Water Bottle...

Goaltending is a strenuous task. Not only is it a complete workout on a person's body, it is also a workout on a person's brain due to the commitment and focus needed to be a goaltender. So it is crazy to think, that a point in Hockey history, goaltenders were not allowed to keep a water bottle on top of their net! Bob Froese is credited with starting the trend in the 1985 Stanley Cup Final, and it has lasted all the way to the modern era.

Just so you know, Bob actually lost 20 pounds, loses about 10-15 per game, Bob is him😂😂

As a goalie, I would completely not mind a bucket of chicken on the net along with my water bottle. I'd share with my teammates, but only if they don't screen me.

3/4 cup (1 1/2 sticks) melted butter
1 1/2 cups sugar
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
3 large eggs
3/4 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup Hershey's cocoa
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
Preheat the oven to 350F degrees. Line an 8-inch square metal pan with foil and grease only the bottom of the foil.
In a large mixing bowl combine melted butter, sugar and vanilla with a wooden spoon until well blended.
Add eggs and beat well with spoon until creamy.
In a small bowl whisk together the flour, cocoa, baking powder and salt.
Gradually add the flour mixture to the egg mixture, beating gently until well mixed.
Spread batter evenly into prepared pan.
Bake 40 to 45 minutes or until brownies appear set and begin to pull away from the sides of the pan.
Remove from the oven and cool the brownies completely in pan on wire rack.
Cut brownies into desired size and shape.

You’re welcome

Why is is the goalie throwing the water bottle at the ref so funny to me 😭

For some context on that Brabovsky picture, the ~15 pounds he lost was all water weight so he gained it back within a day. NHL goalies do not lose that much weight every game otherwise they would all have to be constantly eating all day every day just to maintain weight.

Even as a Leafs fan, I love those flyers and oilers jerseys so much, they looked so vintage and cool. Even though the current Oilers jerseys are a throwback to those original ones, seeing Wayne and Messier wear them still feels special all these years later.
