Backpacking Around New Zealand

A month traveling around New Zealand's south and north islands - I was sent on a GoPro shoot for a 5 day kayak trip and I decided to stay 2 weeks longer to meet up with friends and roadtrip around the country.

Dear Carlos,
As a kiwi who's lived on this tiny little Island in the south pacific my entire life I guess I just haven't thought about how much I take for granted. The ski slopes that are only a 4 hour drive away, the beautiful surf beaches that line our coasts or the seemingly endless forests and national parks were always just the norm for me. I never really understood how beautiful this country was, even when we saw tourists from all over going to the top of Mt Eden in awe of the "nature" and "wildlife" up there (Just some grass and a few birds.) So when I see someone who has come to this place and appreciates it as much as you have, it gives me a better appreciation of how beautiful it is and how lucky I am to have lived here all my life. When we watch these kind of videos there two main fellings that we must express: 1) feeling depressed, because your life is not as cool as their lifes are 2) feeling inspired and encourage yourself to do the same and experience the best adventures. I choose option two.

Sometimes I wonder why tourists always are amazed by nz cause I’ve lived here all my life that I’ve just gotten used to all the beautiful scenery and endless beaches, this video really had me grateful for what I’ve taken for granted my whole life

I just was on an exchange year in nz to be specific Tauranga and I miss it so much it became my home and it replaced my actual home Germany and I never felt so loved and encouraged as I did in New Zealand
I’m returning to my home Tauranga in December for 3 weeks and watching this makes me realise how blessed I am having so many friends over there which I know about are for true and friends for a life time

Absolutely beautiful, it so nice to see all of this. It reminds me all the good times from 2013 to 2017 in New Zealand. I am back there for a month in November 2019!
