In this video, I address the points I made in my May 25th, “Prime Inc Success Leasing | A Legacy of Failure” video. I have since changed my mind on the points I made in the video. There were some things that I was wrong about. I talk about it all, address the comment section, and explain my confirmation bias.

Y’all are hilarious with these comments. Prime did not contact me. Prime did not threaten to sue me. Prime did not pay me. 😂

Yes, while training students, my average weekly gross was $6, 000, and I was paying my student $700. When I had to start paying $1, 200 or $1, 300, I stopped training students.

The reason many Prime drivers don’t go for lease purchase is that most of these kids come from very poor backgrounds. They have very poor money management skills, and it takes time for them to improve. I remember one student who didn't have any money to eat, and whatever he was getting weekly was going towards paying off his debt. He really wanted to start a new life. So, for the first three months, I made sure to fill my refrigerator with food for him so he didn’t have to spend money on food. They have so much debt; how can they put down a $14, 000 down payment? That is why many go for regular leases, as they are walk-away leases with no questions asked. So, they feel more comfortable doing that.

Lease and Lease Purchase programs are unique to every company out there. Read and understand each program, regardless of the company you jump onto. I think these programs are great for people who want to learn how to "run" a truck without really being financially and legally responsible for a truck note. I've learned so much from the two programs I've gone thru. The first one was not meeting my expectations. I gave the company a chance to get the financials turned around, but they just couldn't get it done. I'm now with a second company, for over 3 years, and even though the market is horrible right now I'm surviving. I hope I can stick it out and finish out the lease/purchase program and have a truck for at least a year or maybe two without a major issue before it needs an in frame. I don't know if you had made this video because Prime contacted you but it's always best to be clear and accurate with your info. Hope you didn't get in trouble or anything. God bless.

The lease purchase program at prime is by far the best out there. I have 1 truck paid off, another one will be paid off in December, and another one paid off the December after that. In reality it's better than going to the dealership. That's what works for me. Some of the moves prime is making is a different story

The thing with leasing and why it fails is because. 1. they be wanting to go home every weekend. I tell people all the time they should do they research before leasing. 2. Fuel not knowing how to fuel can kill your pay check.

I’m currently leasing with Prime. I can’t really give the best answer to that on my experience because this is my third week driving. But so far so good I’m getting a hang of it and learning how to manage my fuel to have my check look better.

I just purchase a 2020 freightliner Cascadia..th sticker price was 54, 900..I had cash so we negotiate them down to 52, 000..I hate to finance anything that have wheels. I bought the truck from diamond truck sale in houston texas..

My negative experience leasing with Prime when I got my CDL in 2016 aside... I refused to train new drivers, props to those that do it but i'm all set with that lol. But Prime pays 72% of gross on a load to the lessee, at minimum the driver should only be on the hook for paying the trainee 72% of the CPM the trainee is paid being on the truck, and Prime should foot the bill for the rest.

You get more loads done and make more money having a trainee on the truck since you're not training, you are just team driving with a new driver so it does make sense to push some of that expense on the lessee, but they under no circumstances should be on the hook for 100% of the trainee's pay because they are not getting 100% of the gross for every load.

Just my opinion here but I think drivers should steer clear of lease programs at any trucking company. It really truly only works if you’re single and want to stay on the road. Depending on your situation, you could find yourself mentally and physically drained from not seeing your family and watching all your money go back to the company due to high “phantom cost”

New 5 year policy for trucks makes Lease purchase no longer worth it. Unless the driver plans on leaving after.

The lease purchase and train to pay off the truck faster stopped being the Meta. Once they implemented this policy. Especially when taking account having to pay students 1, 200-1, 300 weekly.

Might as well do regular lease.
Try to last through the short waves of saturation from new drivers coming in. Due to Prime never slowing up recruitment.

Prime dropped mileage requirements from 50k to 30k. Just as rates finally gotten better for some. Which is a problem because it didn’t get better the majority.

Lastly, as for people commenting. Prime Drivers are die hards when it comes to protecting The company’s image. They will gaslight and dismiss other Prime Drivers. Especially the YouTubers. But when it gets so rough that they (YouTubers) can’t receive favor. Or the lesser known one can’t play it off that the purple is the greatest ever. They make videos complaining in droves.
The nano freight picks up to where they (known YouTubers) can get more favorable loads. They start the gas lighting again.

So don’t worry too much about them.
