In this video, I discuss Marathon Digital Holdings (MARA), a US Bitcoin mining company that continues to innovate at the cutting edge of corporate stupidity.

In the past, MARA has participated in OFAC censorship, spammed the chain with inscription garbage that crowds out legitimate monetary transactions, and now in a final act of desperation is mining shipcoins.

To add injury to insult, MARA management's compensation continues to rise, even as the stock price continues to fall.

Short sellers would seem to agree with this analysis, and there is a very real chance that this company does not survive.

Just reading the chart. BTC is up 100% in 12mos. KAS is up 600% in 12mos. Why would they not want a piece of that ?

I’ve watched many hours of Fred Theil speak and he’s knowledgeable and gifted at explaining the benefits of the mining industry specifically from an environmental perspective. I’ve learned a lot from him speak.

Having said that…this information is troubling. Thank you for sharing this perspective. I think it’s important to take in all information as a whole. I don’t have any financial stake in his company.

Hey Matt, I’ve been an avid viewer and subscriber since 2021. I cannot thank you enough for how much you have contributed to my understanding of Bitcoin. I’d love to hear your thoughts on the interview with Peter Thiel yesterday where he said he “doesn’t see Bitcoin moving up dramatically from here”. Sad to see smart people still missing the plot.

KAS is not a shipcoin, just look into the tokenomics, lots of similarities to BTC, limited supply, fair launch, POW, ect.

BTC needs Kaspa, don't be stubborn and emotional when it comes to the best pow ever invented, its a mathematical marvel that allows near instant transactions without any skirting in security or implementation of layer 2s, its flawless

I am a newbie and still learning - As a person whose motivation towards Bitcoin is mostly driven by separating the concept of money from the state and other bad actors, I have concerns about miners. Thank you MK for continuing to reassure me of the resilience of the system but I believe that a healthy consideration of vulnerability is critically important to the long term future of digital money. If BTC goes in the direction maxi's are saying then eventually the gloves are coming off and the fight is going to get ugly. When I think about how BTC could be successfully attacked by physical or digital violence my thoughts always land on the miners. They are the keystone of the function. It seems to me like having more small ones spread out is better than having massive racks in fewer locations. Peace

Matthew, thank you for your insight into MARA’s operations. That said, I presume you haven’t done enough research into Kaspa since you unnecessarily refer to it as a shipcoin. Kaspa is logically a better coin, and arguably the best coin currently in the market, to accomplish what Bitcoin set out to do. That is not to say that Bitcoin will not still reign supreme in terms of its price action. The crypto market exists because of Bitcoin and it will always remain the undisputed king.

Respect the channel immensely, and MARA has done some suboptimal things…excessive dilution among them.

But to be very clear, KAS does not qualify as a shitcoin. PoW…fair launched…supply capped. It’s the only one I haven’t been able to write off.

I won’t call you a closed minded maxi, as I’m not far from that, but KAS is interesting and hard to completely dismiss, imo.

Bitcoin is the OG and is a great store of value, but Kaspa is much better than BTC in all areas, and it's not even close.
