I fly out of Kalispell all the time; inexpensive parking, great vehicle service, and always stay another day or two upon return. You clear the border and you're inside the USA, so everything is easy. I walked from the airport and couldn't step out onto the highway without people stopping and asking if I wanted a ride into town (it's six miles). That's NW Montana hospitality.

Thanks for sharing. I grew up in Whitefish. What an incredible place to have spent my formative years, although it has changed dramatically since the late 60’s & early 70’s. Still have family there and I still go back to visit for a week or two most summers. 😃

Can confirm. I lived in Montana for 6 years. Whitefish was literally a 15 minute drive away. I actually worked at a restaurant called piggyback barbecue. You won’t find better bbq in that town. God I miss it so damn much

Surprised you didn't show a visit to a local pub or restaurant! That's one thing we LOVE about your episodes! Keep up the great content!

Same thing happened here in Highlands NC.. invaded by Atlanta, Texas, SC, and Florida..I’m sorry but I’m fleeing my once small quite town and moving there.. Whitefish/Kalispell.. I promise ..I’m only bringing Country values and respect and admiration for the wilderness I love..

Can’t just blame out of town buyers - greedy opportunistic sellers ruin it as well.

i grew up in whitefish, moved to california as a teenager and finally made it out at 36
i wanted to go back to whitefish so bad but i heard that too many Californians already moved there so i chose a place in the black hills of south dakota instead

The real estate prices he quoted are off a bit. It is 2 years later, but the median sold home price is $493k, the median listing price is $796k. My brother's house doubled in price in about 2 years. My wife and I were looking at land way out of town (I am from there) about 4 years ago. It was 20 acres for 80k. there were 7 lots available. It was too remote for us because we know what the winter is from California offered $150, 000 cash without ever having seen the property. Of course it was accepted. The other listings were removed a day or two later. They went back up a week later for $140k each. All I have to say is that the tweekers will steal your generator out there if you are not home to protect it, and the roads are not plowed in the winter. It is also a high fire risk area and the insurance companies started pulling out of that area about 2 years ago. Good
