Just a little footage from 1896 of horses with boots pulling carriages and people wearing coats and the iconic Big Ben.
The clock tower at the north end of the Palace of Westminster is commonly referred to as “Big Ben” (which is why it is referred to as this in the video) but in fact the name of “Big Ben” is actually a name for the bell inside the clock tower. The official name of the tower was originally the “Clock Tower” but was renamed to the “Elizabeth Tower” in 2012.
