This is from Leo's album recording in 1957 when he was heavily into the Frosini repertoire. Pietro Frosini was born in Catania, Sicily, in 1885 where, at the age of six, he began to study chromatic accordion. Then he undertook the study of piano, cornet, & other band instruments & was accepted as 1st chair cornetist in the British Naval Band at Malta. But his love always remained the accordion, & he later migrated to California where he embarked on a successful career as a top ranking vaudeville performer. Frosini is famed for developing the exciting technique of the "bellows shake." His compositions were light & folkish, & often displayed a sparkling sense of humor with enjoyable melodic & rhythmic structures.

My dad and my accordion teacher wanted me to learn and play this piece when I was maybe 10 or 11 years old....but never could I get it quite right
to their dismay....however...by trying to cop all those licks at such a young age it helped develop my chops for the Hammond B3 that was yet to come
