Thank you for this thorough review! Huge fan of DJI and its products. I have been keeping my eyes on Amflow for a while now. So far, super impressed with the motor.

It's an Awsome package, I did a small test ride a few days ago at a local shop (Edit: in Germany) and the owner did the evening before ride our local trail park, he was positively impressed and so was I, can't wait to get my amflow 😉, if it's not your only bike as a hard hitter (lucky to have a Spindrift) then rocking the trails down and up is a sure thing on the Amflow. I am also keen on seeing how well it can do a long tour, nobody has really done an endurance test. With Bosch Gen 4 I could do about 95km and 1200+m of height, guess the Amflow will beat that which would be Awsome.

Thanx for the comment on thr stiffness/flex.
Being close to 98kg/216lbs stiffness is quite important to me and often missed/ignored in other reviews.

Thank you for actually talking about how the bike actually rides. 95% of vids on this bike is just froth on the motor/electronics forgetting that it's an actual bike that has to perform (MBR at least spoke about it briefly and also mentioned the frame flex). Despite the impressive motor etc, I feel like it makes the same mistakes as other SL eMTBs - their primarily objective is weight and subsequently gives up a lot in that department (e.g. an extra 200-300grams in the frame would have made this bike have a broader appeal.

Awesome review! Thank you. One concern I have as the eBike industry moves forward is how much is too much power/torque? I see more and more trail user conflict as our eBikes get faster, especially uphill. Of course the "throttle" is always in the hands of the user. Personally when I'm riding one of my eBikes i am SUPER EXTRA courteous to other trail users, I hope others do the same!

I've got one on order, deposit paid. Due in November. Can't wait to hit the muddy trails 😊

The industry needs to have one standard mount for the motors.

As others here have said, put out a 180/170 Enduro 38 fork version AMFLO...and since DJI is so innovative, let's add a 9-spd compact MGU to it. Finally, at least license the DJI system to a US bike manufacturer like Intense or Pivot for different suspension designs to be sold in North America.👊

Speed limit should be allowed to be removed, for all of us that ride private land.

That's more important than power by itself

I was sure that the initial impressions will be positive. Can't wait for the long term review.

Going by the looks and reviews, I don’t know whether to be impressed at DJI or pissed at the MTB industry.

Amflow must make an enduro version of this bike

Amflow will have put the bike through all the relevant safety tests. It's rated as cat 4. The size goes up to XXL with a 525mm reach, rider height of up to 6ft 7". I'm pretty sure that there won't be a rider out there under 95kg at this height 🤔 Do they really need an Enduro build when a 150/160mm trail will do most things. Plus this is meant to be a lightweight bike with full power. Just pick your lines more carefully or buy a different bike 🙄 There is simply nothing in this category that stacks up to this. Sure they will probably offer the drive system to other bike manufacturers. Bosch, Brose and Shimano among others will be rightly concerned.

Thanks for this review. Power is nothing in control and Bosch may have had the right approach with their 5th generation and not pushed their motor.
What I may expect from these long established brands is to learn from DJI on the improvement and number of sensors, the high density of the batteries with a lower weight and especially the speed of charging them

I'm starting to look at ebices again after a 1 yr hiatus, I'd like this drive motor in a Mondraker Neat, that would be my perfect one 😍

I think around 90NM is max for the drive trains we currently have available
Manufactures need to beef up chains, cassettes, chain rings to handle the high torque that the industry is likely heading to
So the solution has to be MGU!

Seriously the rocky mountain is not far away from this and gives me this power all the time and im also amazed by its power. Im very fit rider and i use the bike only on rest days in highest power level and i ride up the mountain faster than what you showed me here. So not sure whats the fuzz about here.😊

At almost $12, 000.00 it better be good!

Would love to see the DJI @ 105nm Turbo mode (not Boost) vs the Bosch Race motor (in race mode).

I would like to see this drive unit in a gearbox - time has come to get rid of the derailleur…
