everybody needs to realize that when you're allowing someone to share something they love with you, you should at least have your full attention on it. Even if you don't care about the thing, it shows that you care about them and the part of themselves they're communicating to you through that thing.

Most relatable comedy sketch of all times. Almost as relatable as when you tell your friend that the movie is the best, they look at the synopsis and go "Nah, not my thing" and 2 years later after they forgot you had recommended the movie, they come at you with "Yo, have you heard about this movie?"

This makes me very much appreciate what an absolute gem my Dad is when watching a movie. When we watch a movie together, we do so quietly and pay attention to to the movie. He's by far my favorite person to watch movies with.

My husband, every time we rewatch a movie he goes, “I’ve never seen this part before. Is it an extended edition?” “No, you just don’t pay attention.”

I watched this with my wife, and she laughed, saying, "That's totally us! " But, I do feel one important detail was left out in this skit: the wife snoozes at the end, and then later she asks, "How did it end? Tell me what happened? "

Watched all 3 Lotr movies over 3 days with my wife and was afraid to get a situation just like this. But luckily she really enjoyed it and even remembered most of it and we could talk about some scenes afterwards. Was awesome.

I remember having a similar experience one time when I tried to show a couple of friends Cube. There was a lot of talking (not about the film), getting up and leaving, and I remember feeling really frustrated, annoyed, and sad less than halfway through (which then lasted for the next hour). That first look over to see Brit on the phone, I felt it in my gut.

I remember watching Ladybird with my sisters and their friend one time (because it was a critically acclaimed movie). They proceeded to gossip the entire time, ask me every ten minutes to explain what was happening. And then during the credits when I got up to go to bed, they were all whining for an explanation on the whole story because they didn't have the attention spans. I responded with "Maybe you should watch the movie then." and left the room lol

I would rather have my significant other not watch my favorite movie than suffer through the awkwardness of them being bored and not interested in something that I love. It's okay not to share everything - that's what friends are for
