How to Use a Slip Lead

A properly adjusted slip lead is a simple, effective way of securing a dog without a collar. Here's an easy way to put it on.

Be sure that the handle loop of the lead is over the wrist of the hand holding the treat (or whichever hand feels most comfortable to you), so that you have the best chance of grabbing it, should the dog pull after being restrained by the lead.

Agreed - should be behind the ears ( the most sensitive place for full control) keep short and loose when walking at heel

Isn't that lead resting a little low?

Well that gets the lead over the head. But it's not sitting in the correct position.

You've got your lead in wrong spot on dogs neck should be right up high above flat collar right up against dog's skull you don't want to crush it's trachea !
