I'm glad it wasn't just me who noticed this. At first it seemed like McCain was asking the question in a way to make it seem like Comey had acted so strangely that it confused him. But in reality I think McCain was genuinely confused about the facts. Sad.

I don't think he's losing his mind. I think he was trying to get Comey to say something to the effect of, "Just because we closed the investigation of her e-mails doesn't mean we've removed her as a person of interest in the interference investigation."

A sentence like that would have been worth its weight in gold to the GOP.

Wow. I've watched McCain's questioning three times today and still can't believe it. He has to be removed from the panel. He is obviously unwell. And Comey was so patient and polite even though it was at the end of a very stressful three hours.
