Lately, we have been looking for a simple way to introduce people to welding at an affordable price. We have tested many different machines in the past ranging from a $199 Harbor Freight TIG welder to a $250 Everlast welder and now we are trying out the $296 RazorWeld 110.

In this episode we will be testing its capabilities as a stick welder with both E6011 rod and E7018 rod.

I bought a century 295 amp heavy duty AC welder for 100$. Out performed those Lincoln 225/125 that sell for 1000$. Mine also burned 6010 with AC very well

fencing familiar with them, grew up on them, too. I use a sharpened railway spike, for chipping SLAG.... also make great punches, awls, etc. etc..

From Australia. These units are known as UniMig over here. What amperage is that one? I have an earlier 170A machine that isn't much bigger than that machine, it's a fantastic little welder and packs a punch for its size.

Why wouldn't you run a wire brush on you welds and is there going to be a tig kit on weld.com

Now in 2018 you can get a 160amp stick welder that actually works for $150. No its not job site quality that you would bet your paycheck on but for the do-it-yourselfer its perfect.

6013 is the only rod that works for me. I can keep it going it like a hot glue gun.
7018 does nothing but spark and stick, spark and stick, spark and stick for me.
Run three passes of 6013, should make up for 7018 being twice as strong.
Three decent weld passes with 6013 is a lot stronger than no welds that work at all of 7018

Your transformer TIG should run DC rods on AC flawlessly and I have yet to find a big & heavy transformer welder at a very good price (it doesn't need to be AC/DC).

"Run a tight arc" = keep your rod close to the work????

our instructor hasn't welded with a 6011 in 30 years???

Strange as it may seem, the 6011 makes stronger welds on an AC welder or AC mode on an AV/DC welder. ChuckE2009 did a weld break test to prove it.

chuck2009 was too conservative for YouTube, his channel been deleted.
