Wow! As a beginner, I wish I had access to waves like these! Nice rollers, calm Ocean, hardly any white water or chop to be seen, warm water, looks like Paradise!

These are the sessions that make life worth living. 3-4 foot, 6 foot set waves, nice long periods, warm weather, and a handful of peaople out there all vibing. Throw in my favourite twin fin and a beer back on the beach and I am in absolute heaven!

Beautiful place, beautiful people, and wow - there's an actual PATH to the keyhole! I remember cutting my feet walking out there in 1991 on my first tropical surf trip, staying in a losmen right in front of Indicators, drinking too much Drum whisky, living off nasi goreng and porridge with Milo, and going home with a 2 inch gash in the back of my head. Ahh - the memories.

I remember surfing one of my favorite spots in Mexico and there was a couple out with us in their 70's. They lived in New Zealand during their summer and had a place in Mexico for our summer. The woman had the spot wired!!! I started taking to her and she was the coolest chick I ever met, totally chill and pointed out some spots to help triangulate your position as the tide changed. We (everyone out there) had an amazing session!

thank you for visiting Nias. I suggest it is better to surf on Nias during the full moon or December, where the waves are higher and challenging.

Nias and ulu are my dream waves. Here it's 31 dg out, the waters 47 and the winds blowing sideshore at 30 mph with no swell. Oh and I gotta go to work.
