Plan your cuts . I never have a kick back since i learned this . Blade depth and support the material. Plywood causes most kick backs. No reach so far. Stay above your cuts. Think always. Plan and exicute properly. Never compromise your standards. Be safe. No drinking.

Makita track saw has to be one of the best in the business

I purchased a WEN track saw years ago. The price was $100 for the saw and a couple tracks which has an 8’ span to rip 4x8 sheets. I really only use it to cut down sheets of plywood, and it’s been great for that. Perhaps if I used it more, I might have a desire to upgrade, but I just haven’t found a need to really use it on anything else. Possibly because I never think to pull it out for any other cuts.

Why are tracksaws so expensive, it's just a circular saw with a rail system. Like I could get a portable table saw for the price they're are asking

I bought the makita track saw when it was on sale and I do love having a track saw, it’s a really nice one not that I can really compare it but one thing it does is kicks back. It’s happened twice with 3/4” hickory. I wonder if some of my issue was the track itself being too long and unsupported so I’m thinking of getting a shorter track to avoid the kick back

I buy anti kickback blades for my circular saws.
I'm not sorry, I'm not sold on track saws.

23 years as a carpenter in business. Circular saws are only as unsafe as the person who isnt taking time to learn how to operate one safely.
