Bertie Gilbert introduces his award-winning short film PLEASE CARE!, starring Hugh Skinner.
After losing his wife in a tragic fire, a secondary school teacher (Hugh Skinner) takes it upon himself to make a spectacle of his suffering - by writing and directing a play about his life for his students to perform.
A nihilistic, cautionary exploration of someone losing touch with reality - addressing themes of how we process pain and toxic masculinity. Intercutting between the turgid performance and our flawed protagonist scrambling to keep the show afloat, the film culminates in him having to reckon with his creation in front of the entire school. A twisted, calamitous cry for help.
