Now compared to other vpns, CyberGhost is not the fastest, or even among the top 3. But it’s also not the slowest, it’s more middle-of-the-pack when it comes to speed.

Has IP and DNS leak protection. What i found is that although CyberGhost doesn't leak your IP address, it will occasionally show the country you are connecting from and that you are using a VPN. The reasoning behind this is they want to avoid having their IP’s blacklisted or marked as spam.

For most people this is not a problem; however, if you need a VPN for political reasons and your country of origin is leaked it may be a matter of life and death, so CyberGhost may not be your best choice in that type of situation.

The parent company is in Bucharest, Romania. CyberGhost was initially owned by Crossrider, a company by German tech entrepreneur, Robert Knapp.

He then later sold it to a group of Israeli investors which are called Kape.

The location of the company didn't change after the sale; it's still out of the 14 Eyes jurisdiction, which means it cannot be compelled to share user data by any court.

Some servers for this VPN can download stuff at 15MB/s and some can't, it really depends on the server and the location of the server.
I'm in Canada and I use the Canadian servers for torrenting stuff and Sometimes I get 10-20MB/s and watching YouTube at the same time with no slowdowns.

This cyberghost is as intrusive as not having it.

I had cyberghost for a while, up until its anti-virus add on would stop me from entering Steam, through to other random blocks that had been put on me online, from accessing even basic stuff like Steam. It was working one minute, the next the cyberghost virus is blocking me from being able to play games I have played for years, as one prime example of intrusive, way too intrusive and it should not have the power to override my computer, over me. I have removed it, everything is fine now and I can play my games as normal as Windows Security does not randomly stop me from doing stuff.

Cyberghost and all its add ons are not to be trusted. Waste of money too.

I've had CG for almost a year on my 3 year subscription and I gotta say it does what it sets out to do. May not be the best but it's the best for me.

With that being said, there is an option to "disable ads" but that has never worked for me. I still get them everywhere.

Other than that, pretty good VPN.
