I've been designing a mount to 3d print all afternoon, then I stumbled across this and realised that my otterbox is lying around and would be perfect for this. Thanks mate, saved me another days worth of work.

Never thought of keeping the other side of a dual band radio parked on that national simplex freq for 2m. Nice idea

What a great, and inexpensive, solution for mounting an iPad Mini. Love your radio mount, too, Steelie and all. I've been looking for just this type of thing for an iPad Mini 4 and radios in my GMC van, and looks like I've found the best solution! If I ever write it up I'll be sure to give you credit.

Nicely done video, great set up and walk through. Thanks for spending your time to do this for us. Like that booklet you have tucked under your IBS controller. Liked, subbed, cheers.

I have actually watched your video twice now, I am new to the Ham world, so in looking for a radio for my jeep, and being a newby not knowing what would be best for me yet, (very new passed my test this past monday still waiting for my call sign. )
I have watched your video. Prior to watching your video, I have been looking at adding an iPad Mini in my jeep as well. It is kinda fun to see you have totally removed your faculty radio and went with the iPad, I am thinking it would be a better option. Thanks for sharing this video, I subbed you as well. Hope you have a blessed week sir.

Great video and awesome mobile you have there. I was going to replace my FTM-350 with an ID5100 but you got me thinking that I might keep it and have both! I do love the fact that the 350 has that PTT and mic along with speakers right on the face. Keeps the wife happier not having an additional speaker and hand mic hanging around when we go on trips. 73!

I'm surprised no one has figured out how to wire ptt in one of factory OEM steering wheel buttons to a headset. Like those bluetooth headsets truckers use.

Hey RobRed, great informational video. I was wondering about your switch setup, particularly the 3rd switch you showed. How did you connect the switch to give power to comma system with the key in the off position? Again, great video 👍🏾

Thanks for the informational vid. Trying to confirm parts/components needed with regards to using an ipad mini as a head unit in a LC100. The ipad and the i-simple toyota device hardware are the two electronic pieces needed for this modification?

If you could only have one of the two radios, which would you pick?

Hi Rob - great vid, thanks. Has given me some great ideas for my Mums 100 series. Just wanted to ask if the Deck app is still around? I can't find it anywhere so assume it might have been killed off by the developer?
