UKs deep house specialist Steve Kelley makes his debut on the label with three spectacular tracks. When it comes to low-slung, chunky house grooves, theres not many better at it than Steve. Breaking onto the scene back in the 90s, his incendiary sets as one of the resident DJs for Godkitchen set him on an upward trajectory from day one. Now signed to Capital Heaven, Bondage and The Soundgarden, he now counts industry heavyweights such as Steve Bug and Nick Warren as high profile fans. Opening the EP with Celestial Harmony we are quickly introduced to his deep, intense sound. Strating slowly, bass and keys mimic in groove as the layers of percussion around them build tension. Nuanced with great detail, the ebb and flow of the melodics tell an intricate story. Next up, Deep Down grows with casual unwittingness. In full flow it glides effortlessly around you, as if always there in the background. Glorious and understated, it vibes right to the last beat. Finally, Those Things rounds out the pack in fine form.
