One thing I found that kills the fungus in the soil is simple, cheap and non-toxic, “Cornmeal”. I live in the northwest and I put in a raised bed. When I planted tomato starts as well as other types of plants they would die within a few days. I researched it and found that there was a fungus in the soil, so I looked for something to treat it with, but I was told that it would have to run it’s course and may take about 3 years. I found something on the internet that said cornmeal would take care of it. So I mixed some into the soil and didn’t have a problem after that with blight or black spot. I also had a severe problem with powdery mildew and black spot on my roses. I mixed it into the soil around the base of the roses and didn’t have a problem after that.

I love how you explain things. Even though I know a bit about growing a garden and know there are different kinds of blight but you make it stick in my brain and the names of the blights and, well, you are just very good at explaining things.

awesome, this is truly some of the best info I've seen on YT...all the conjured up remedies "this product and that" never fix anything...so listen to this fella!

Thanks for the "spot on" info about my tomatoes this year. This year in W.V. it seems it is raining off and on each and every day and the humidity is killing me and my plants. I have never had such a horrible time growing tomatoes. Thanks again for the info.

Thorough and comprehensive, lacking verbiage, which makes a nice change from those professing to possess knowledge.
A well earned new subscriber, incidently!
Thanks for uploading.

My tomatoes have the blight because of too much rain. I was able to removed the disease leaves early on so it slowed down the infection. The fruits started ripening but I am not going to have an abundant harvest because of the wet weather we are having. Your suggestion to removed the disease leaves was spot on. Thanks.

This was straight to the point, and very informative. Out of all of the videos i searched up last year, i couldnt identify between the two illnesses. This video tells me that my tomato plants had the septoria leaf spot. Gratitude sent to your sister michigander in northeast oakland county. May your gardens harvest be abundant and healthy.

I get 200-300 tomatoes a year and thought I knew everything, but I still learned some things from this video. 👍

Subscribed! I've been gardening for quite a few years, but somethings you forget along the way. I'm dealing with blight right and have some neem oil. I'm watching this at 9:30 at night and want to get out there in the garden to apply some neem, but have to wait till morning. Thank you, for sharing the information, hope I can stop this blight.
