Why does this Old Slavonic sound like that? Because it was read by a Pole, that is me. I have a presentation of Old Polish and dialectal texts. Please tell me, especially if you are not Slavic, how does it sound to you compared to other languages like Italian, French, Russian, Czech?
Sorry for the so long "iers" in several places. My mistake.
We do not know exactly how it sounded (we only know the approximate notation and accents, and the melody of the whole sentence will remain a secret, as in any language from the old days), it probably did not sound the same everywhere.
He was also present in medieval Poland in Krakow. that's why it's worth listening to different Slavs from time to time. Each is beautiful. Above, I try to reconstruct, based on the sound of the dialects of Lesser Poland, how it might have sounded in Krakow.

Thanks for using an updated OCS voice narration! Now, I believe, it's much closer to what it used to be in the past. By the way, nowadays Russian Orthodox Church Slavonic is hugely influenced by the modern Russian language in terms of pronunciation. Listen to Patriarch Kirill in any of the liturgies, for example.

I may sound crazy for saying this😅 but you can do a comparison of constructed languages of Esperanto, Interslavic and Toki Pona (if you found a Toki Pona speaker)

Interslavic is the only one international language that I understand 95% (slovio, esperanto etc. only 50%) . In fact, this is Russian with "wrong" accents.Well done creators!

By the way, how do you know to pronounce the word 'bread', where there is options 'hlěb' and 'hlib' ?

I can understand both 100% because i speak Russian, Ukrainian, Polish and a little Serbian, Bulgarian.
Slavonic sounds like Polish and Serbian a lot, especially the numbers.
Interslavic sounds like Ukrainian and Slovenian.
Both languages overleap in todays Polish, Serbian, Ukrainian and Slovenian. Both languages have words combined in today's Russian.
The mystery of this is, none of them sounded like Russian (the pronunciation).

The pronounciation of Old Church Slavonic is off. The speaker got the stress off, probably influenced by his native (West Slavic, probably Czech or Slovak) language.

Now I understand why modern Russian sounds like this, it was influenced by Church Slavonic.

The Church Slavonic has played the exact same role as the Interslavic language since Medieval times. I honestly don't get it why We made the Interslavic language in the first place

Is there the word 'kacap" also in Interslavic? I use this word everyday in Polish.
