World Health Day 2020 dedicated to nurses

The WHO has dedicated the World Health Day 2020, commemorated annually on 7th April, to the work of nurses and midwives and to remind world leaders of the critical role they play in keeping us healthy. Nursing is the largest occupational group in the health sector, accounting for almost 59% of the health professionals. Interestingly, 70% of the health and social workforce globally are women, and they have been fighting at the front-line to battle the novel coronavirus pandemic. The World Health Organisation urges everyone to take a minute today to thank them.Prime Minister Narendra Modi also expressed his gratitude towards doctors, nurses and medical staff leading the fight against Covid-19.
