Vizio D650i-B2 Review

A short review on the tv Walmart sold for 648 on BF. BTW, this is the actually tv your viewing through the whole review. Some people thought I was using a powerpoint presentation, but I filmed everything directly off the TV.

I did research this TV before my purchase on Thanksgiving night at WallyWorld. I knew the refresh rate was really 60 Hz. What convinced me to buy was 65 inches for $648 and HD. Are you kidding me? Its a steel at that price. I connected a Sony Sound bar that has HDMI input and output for one connection to the TV. The sound and video both are spot on. Great HD picture and room filling sound for my living room. I watch a lot of sports on TV and I have not been bothered one bit by any video degradation in any way. I am very pleased with this TV. This TV will keep me happy till the UHD TV's and are more reasonably priced.

This is the best review on this TV. I too bought one of these a couple of years ago, and no one made an in-depth review. My feelings about it are pretty much the same. The sound is distorted and sometimes makes the voices hard to hear. I had to calibrate mine and bring down the brightness quite a bit to suit my needs. Thanks for making this review.

P.S. - I came across this review because I was looking at the response time since I got a NES mini and wanted to see how bad the input lag would be.

Saw this at Costco, was sitting near a Samsung model. The picture on the Vizio was just like on a theater scree.  The colors were exactly like on a big screen and it also ha a grain similar to a projection in a theater. Basically, it was like watching a movie in a theater. Impressive, beautiful image.

I just got this TV this past Friday and set it up yesterday, 12-20-2014. The review is dead on. I just found out today from the system information that the TV was 60hz which would have pissed me off had I know before I turned the TV on but not so much after I have watched a NFL football game (Eagles vs Washington) and a movie (No Good Deeds) on it. As the reviewer said the picture is very decent for the incredible price point of $648 I paid for it on Black Thursday. The biggest negative about the TV is the remote which is completely awful in design and functionality and the speed of the smartapps. Also the USB does work for playing different file format movies but the performance is so slow and erratic I still use my Sony BDP-S5200 to hook up my USB drive to play various movies I have downloaded. I think because the TV has problems processing anything else but displaying a picture it is best to use and external source like a Smart Blue Ray Player, AppleTV, Chromecast or Roku to do the multimedia/Smart App thing. On the positive side I do hope it last as it is great at doing what a TV should do and that is display a picture. I am overall happy with the display for the price I paid.

We got this tv too. I'm a little annoyed by the picture, any times it seems as though the people are posterized and blotchy, especially when watching a DVD instead if a blue ray. Adjusting picture settings helps, but like you stated in your review that depending on what you are watching you may need to play with the picture to even make it watchable. I'm like you, want to keep it for the price but not happy about the picture. We have a 55" Vizeo that I never have to adjust the picture setting on. It's a few years old and I figured I was getting a similar tv but larger size for a steal. Lesson learned, next time I will spend my Thanksgiving with my family!

So I've had the TV for a couple months now. The picture has a white tint to it, a little washed out and the pile density isn't great. But all in all a medium to semi low end 65 inch tv. My biggest issue is lately I've had a tiny almost own out sound come from the stock tv speakers. I never listen to the volume passed 30 so I don't know what's going on with that.

Question? Exact same tv just when the picture goes black on the middle of the screen theres a whitish mark like a shadow is this a Normal design or did my tv coma digestive thanks

old video i know but i got this on black Friday in 2014 never once have i had an issue with the tv i have been wondering if its hdr capable since vizio is rolling out some hdr uodates to get there 2014 2015 tvs to be capable of hdr hopefull but i bet not

So how did you determine this TV is really just 60Hz? I recently bought the D650i-C3 for a similar price and fear it might also be a 60Hz TV masquerading as 120Hz since the promotional material references "effective" refresh rate as you described. I thought the C3 might just be a minor variation on the B2, but given that the C3 weighs 10 pounds less than the B2, there must be some significant differences.

I am waiting my TV as well. Is it worth it? I feel ripped off now that it will not be a 120hz TV. Isn't that false advertising? I was going to use this as a basement home theater type thing, is it worth keeping or should I upgrade to a better model?

and i had 2 60 lg plasma tvs before this and i tried 3 other tvs befor this one i like my plasma better than the other tvs but ive never had motion blur whit it i did with the other 3

I used this tv for gaming (ps4) and I'm getting a weird pixelated effect, really noticeable big squares. I play fallout 4 a lot and when the sun shines on my character or things you see the huge pixels around the thing or character. Can any one please tell me if the same is happening with you and if you've found a fix? if not I'm exchanging the tv this Saturday. Hopefully someone replies soon, I don't feel like going in with the tv cause it's kind of embarrassing.
