Peter Hitchens explains why he does not trust the accuracy of the election polls and why their forecasts are demotivating to right-leaning voters. He also says he believes Starmer's Labour government will embark upon dramatic constitutional reform which will reduce the sovereignty of the House of Commons.

One thing on which Hitchens is right, ignore the polls. The people have to find some courage. If you want reform, Vote Reform.

The number of people and the enthusiasm at Nigel Farage's speeches tells me all I need to know.

A heck of a lot of people- on both sides- are going to vote Reform.

If you can't tell what a woman is, you should never be PM or in politics.

We certainly don’t need a Labour government. But the Conservatives have been so bad that some people think labour is the only option. I’ll be voting Reform, the Conservatives don’t deserve my vote, and Labour doesn’t represent me whatsoever.

Blame the Conservatives for their utter failures, which is making Labour's victory possible.

I think most people are sick of the 2 party system, they are basically the same nowadays anyway

Just pray the polls get it very wrong this time! The thought of a vote for Islam terrifies me. I love my country and my culture. Reform reform reform our only hope.

I disagree with Peter Hitchens. I don't think ANY party, or even two parties on a 50/ 50 basis, should ever be in a place where they should assume it'll either be an "us or them" choice. I especially disagree as well today as I think the two party system we have today is like choosing or voting against the worse venereal disease! I like what Reform stand for

Hitchens says vote for what you think is right and then vote to keep the worst party out which isn't at all the same thing: the confusion of the two party system in a nutshell.
Currently Reform are the second party in opinion polls, so why does Hitchens suggest we vote for the the third party, the Conservatives?
It's all very muddled.
I think the best option is for all Tories and Brexiteers to switch to Reform en masse.
Don't be better at grumbling than finding solutions. The Conservatives are finished. Make the switch to Reform and make your vote count.

I am very doubtful too as in my nearly 50 years of eligibility to vote, I have never been invited nor know anyone who has taken part in an election poll .

The story of Hitchens is tragic. He advocated for zero seats for so long when nobody else did, and when zero seats finally gained popularity, Hitchens had already given up on the concept.
