If they don't transform, I can't break them, so that's Kool and the Gang.

Personally the main reason I love the model kits is a sense of accomplishment. It feels like I made this highly articulated figure of my favorite comic character.

No dog in this fight, as the transformation is part of the magic for me. I do appreciate the flame toys stuff from afar, they are amazing pieces but cost too much for what they would offer me personally.

It’s cool you are doing a charity comp for MS. As a youtuber with MS myself it’s great to see people trying to help so it’s much appreciated. As for the non transformable figures, for me, 3A is killing it with the DLX line. The price point to quality is superb and are so well loved they turn up in pretty much every collectors community on facebook regardless of the scale (1/12 & 1/6 scale groups love them equally).

I love it! Give me hyper articulated super accurate figures all day.

I just dont need or want transformations any more.

I know that's not a popular opinion. But I'm 45. I want a hit toys ethos, but in transformers.

I absolutely love Flame Toys and am interested in every Kuro Kara Kuri figure they plan to release. I also agree they could lower the price a bit. Great discussion!

I love 3A. I have all three of the DLX figures and the Soundwave and Ravage on pre-order coming later this year. I also have one of their premium scale figures. These figures are well built and beautifully crafted. And they capture the attention of those who see them. Because they are a display piece and not a kids toy. If you have a transformer figure out on display, it looks like a toy on display. But when you put a higher end figure out on display, it looks like art. And that's because it is! To each his own, but I perfer a high end adult display piece, over a kids toy.

What I do, is use Mp and 3p for my robot display. But if I want to transform a character, I use my C.H.U.G collection, because they can withstand the process and are more fun to do.

Honestly, the key is to ask yourself; "Am I going to use the alt' mode at all?"

Threezero/3a wins this for now. The quality and engineering etc is just as good as flametoys. And its around half the price for a larger figure. So parts count and components are the same, or possibly Threezero has more.
Flame toys is also making niche characters as opposed to more popular characters such as prime and bee. It’s going to be interesting to see what happens from here on out.
But one thing is certain. Flametoys and Threezero are the best of the best. Not just in this category. But of the entire transformers universe when it comes to toys.

honestly i have no problem as long as they are posable, have a good sculpt and paint job.

though i wish we had an updated Fire Convoy that could transform

My problem with Flame Toys is that I couldn't display them in line with my regular MP/3P stuff cause Flame Toys would make everything else look shitty ^^

About your house cleaning, if you want a golden lagoon with more golden lagoon you could do it with Legends scaled Transformers.

The quality of 3A/Z and Flame Toys Transformers are so top notch that I don’t mind if they lack transformations. I’m primarily invested in the characters themselves; their alt modes are bonuses. So I personally will continue to support nontransforming figures, even if the cost is higher. Hasbro has been doing a phenomenal job lately with Studio Series, MPMs, Earthrise, etc. Yet those two aforementioned companies are just a cut above.

I think in your discussion about flame toys' pricing, you forgot to take into account the aspect of concept designing. All flame toys highend figures are vastly redesigned, rather than directly based on their idw representations. When the redesigning process comes into play, the company had to put extra bucks into the product, ultimately to pay the artists who were commissioned (the same goes for their model kits). So even though i have never had a chance to mess with a flame toys figure, i think it's safe to say that they are at least $100-150 more expensive than their competition.

For me both transforming and non transforming figures have both pros and cons.
For example transforming figures take the essence of what makes transformers stand out outside other things, but at the same time most figures won’t look that good, yes it’s mostly for kids but adults still collect them and design won’t be as good.
While non transforming figures while not having that “transformers magic” in a way will use the opportunity to look very good, like a tarn figure i saw the other day it was amazing

I don’t transform my figures, just pieces on a shelf
