Christone 'Kingfish' Ingram - 662 (Official Audio)

The official audio for Christone "Kingfish" Ingram's "662" the title track from the eponymously named 2021 Grammy Award winning album.

The number 662 references Ingram's hometown telephone area code, and of the album Ingram says, "662 is an ode to my roots, a nod to the area where I was born and raised. The title track, 662, encompasses how a small corner of the earth influenced my view of life and music. It also points to the growth I have had since my debut album. As much as I have been fortunate to get 'Outside Of This Town' (the title of his breakout single from his 2019 Grammy-nominated debut album, Kingfish), I do want people to know that the '662' will always be a major part of who I am."

I was raised in the 601 during the summer months before there was a 662... my father was from Sharkey county Blanton and my mother was from Muddy Waters territory of Issaquena county Rolling Fork though some of us pronounce it 'Folk'; when I was a kid growing up in the HOT summer months down south, he ain't lyin' about them nighttime mosquitoes cuz they tore me up more than anybody in my family so I know bout that 662... GO KINGFISH!

First time I heard about Kingfish was in Yngwie Malmsteen interview. Yngwie rarely comments guitar players, but he talked about new young, very talented blues guitar player. Absolutely right.
