Cadets, everyone you have a reason for being a JROTC. Maybe you haven't fully thought about it, but I want you to consider, what is your why in JROTC? For some of you, it's a structure. Maybe you need more discipline in your life and a way to stay focused. Maybe stay on track. Which, that's a solid reason. JROTC gives you tools to build on that discipline, but it only works if you put effort. Others, you're here for leadership. You want to stand out, be the one others can depend on, and learn how to lead not just by words, but by examples. That's an important skill, not just here, but for the rest of your life. And then there are those of you who see JROTC as a stepping stone for your future. Whether it's preparing for the military or just gaining confidence in life skills. JROTC is giving you a foundation to succeed. But remember, it's only as valuable as the effort you put into it. So ask yourselves, what is your why? Because once you know that every challenge, every lesson, every day in JROTC has a purpose. and that's what will push you forward. In the comments below, let me know what your why is.

Im currently a LET 1 in Army Junior ROTC and im here because I think it will prepare me for the Army. I want to become a commissioned officer in the Army and plan to go to West Point when I graduate highschool. Even one of the sergeants said I should go there. I think it will make me physically fit and help me in basic training because I need to improve some things related to physical strength and I think this will help me. Its my first month into the program and I'm loving it.

Before JROTC I had severe anxiety and I was really depressed..and then I heard about it so I decided to try it out. It looked hard. I had real bad anxiety. When I first started my ROTC instructor was really on me. He like to pick on me a lot because I was real shy. I was quiet, but in the end that really helped me get out of my shell he made me Flight Sergeant the first day, so I had no choice but to be loud now it’s my second year I’m a cadet Senior Master Sergeant and now personnel I’m louder than ever

My "why" for joining jrotc was because i was starting to become out of hand for my mom. I remember when my brother did jrotc when the same thing happened he learned respect and discipline. So i wanted that for myself so i wouldn't end up killing my mom with stress. And i sure got it, me and her havent had a fight since i started.

My reason for being in JROTC is to live up to the legacy of my Dad, who was in the Air Force from 1998 to 2017, I mean I’m in Navy JROTC but still. Well, I’ll never be as great as him but still

You seem nice. The JROTC instructor at my high school used to make fun of me for various things because my locker was near the entrance to that building. I was an “art” kid so I think he saw me as an easy target.
