The image is from a book called "The International Collection of Interior Design" (1985) by the way. Lots of good stuff in there from a quick glance at the Google image results

Somewhere in the eighties corporate landscape. Another late night at the office.

It's so nice to know that there are others who appreciate this genre. When I try to explain it to other people, they look at me like I've lost my mind.

I love 80s work aesthetics. The decade was vibrant with economic optimism it seems

Finally a mix that incorporates other 80s instruments besides synth

Walking into the office on a Friday morning. It’s 1984. Fresh out of college with my degree in “data processing”, I can’t wait to get home for the weekend and play my Atari 2600 with my girlfriend.

For anyone too young, this is what walking through a mall in 1989 sounded like

POV: You walk into an office building and try to wave good morning to the security guard with a cup of coffee in one hand and a brown leather briefcase in the other. The security guard smiles, waves and presses the button to open the door and you manage to get to the elevator just before it closes. Sales report for the quarter came in this morning and your name is at the top of the list. Your boss's assistant helps you calculate what your bonus looks like. "Congratulations" she says.

I work in an office that is quite dated, recently found some old carbon paper and obsolete headsets. I LOVE pretending to be back in time, so this is now my work playlist. Thank you for the cool aesthetic!

it's the night before administrative law's exam and I'm here revising with this mix, feeling like a cool attorney in '85.

I was born in 85 and still remember the sights and sounds as far back as ‘88.
“USA ‘88!”

This takes me back to the malls, the commercials, TV and the toys. Life was so good in the suburbs of Dallas 😩💔

Pleated khakis, Xerox, payphones, fax machines, landlines, padded shoulder blazers, puffy big hair, abstract geometric clothing, Car and Driver magazine, CD players, cassette players, TV Guide, VCR, typing tests, Prince of Persia desktop version, LA Gear---timeless era. Glad I got to enjoy most of it!

This makes me imagine my Mom before I was born: it's 1980s Manila and she's clocking in as an accountant at the Mandarin Oriental. I can see her at her desk, just worried about making a dent in her report and figuring out where to eat with her coworkers. She's wearing a frosty mauve lipstick and smells like Wind Song powder. She's still alive today and we have a great relationship but thinking about the optimism she would have had at the time gets me choked up.

The year is 1983, and the city is a neon-lit playground for the wealthy and powerful. The computer design industry is booming, and I am at the top of my game. I walk the streets with confidence, clad in a sleek suit and sunglasses, my briefcase full of blueprints and designs that will change the world. The air is thick with the sound of synth-pop and the scent of cigarettes and cheap cologne.

As I make my way to my penthouse apartment, the cityscape stretches out before me like a glittering, pulsating dream. But as much as I love the neon lights and the rush of the city, I can't help feeling like something is missing. Maybe it's the emptiness of my empty apartment, or the fact that I have no one to share my success with. Whatever it is, it gnaws at me like a virus, a glitch in my otherwise perfect existence.

I pour myself a glass of scotch and light a cigarette, staring out at the endless sea of lights below. As I take a drag, the smoke seems to merge with the neon, the lines blurring together in a haze of blue and pink. I close my eyes and let the music wash over me, wondering if this is all there is to life. But for now, I am content to let the city and the synth-pop envelop me, a prisoner of my own success.

was 1980's corporate ambience. Reminds me of a time when jobs were more secure, tech wasn't changing our culture quickly, and man wasn't as isolated. There's a sense of purity that was stronger then than it is now.

That first opening track made me think of the moment in every 80’s movie when the bombshell blonde gets out of the car, with the classic pan up from the red high heel all the way to her spectacular perm 😂 and the teen hero stands there with his jaw dropped 😭😂 this music is amazing!

Every time I look at these kinds of nostalgic 80's pictures I get this sense of subconscious memories waking up somewhere deep in my mind. Although this time it was a bit stronger than usual, so I looked it up and realized I actually have been to the building where this photo was taken way back when I was a kid(Westin Bonaventure in LA). I've been there a couple times since, but didn't make the connection right away because it's changed so much. I just wish it still looked like this.
