With the new anime being announced, I hope that they don't forget that THIS is the heart and the feeling of the series. Hokuto no Ken isn't really about the mindless violence and "fuck yeah grrr heavy metal hardcore stuff - we already got stuff like Baki for that.

It's about girthy, buff men crying about issues they could and would have dealt with in therapy, but the nuclear apocalypse made violence the only possible answer. It's about love, the lack of it in desperate times, and aesthetically it's as corny and charming as possible.
