Thei reminded me of when Lion returned and he found one of his sons, tainted by chaos whom in the face of his Primarch and Gene-father, turned against the chaos that he once betrayed everything for. And welcomed the death that came from his Primarch's blade because he still had some of his his Honor left (as well as likely realizing deep down Chaos wasn't any better).

(Although I do pitty the Emperor because he likely Feels his deepest sorrow and heard his prayer. Welcoming the end and hoping for total erasure).

Some Chaos Marine and Dæmon Primarch have guilt remaining, like Horus when he notice the bloodshed for a brief moment "So much blood" or Fulgrim when he killed Ferrus and tried to copy and manipulate his clones to Chaos!
